  • Cauliflower head – broken into even, bite sized pieces.
  • Greek Yogurt – substituting greek yogurt for mayo in sauces cuts the calories but keeps this bang bang sauce deliciously creamy! Additionally, Greek yogurt contains 10 grams of protein and 110 calories per 1/2 cup serving,versus mayo, which only contains a 1 gram of protein per 1/2 cup!  
  • Honey- using honey as a natural sweetener in this sauce to balance out the spicy!
  • Sesame Oil – adds a little nutty flavor to the air fryer bang bang cauliflower
  • Flour and corn starch – i find that a combination of flour and corn starch results in the crispiest air fryer cauliflower!
  • Spices – a combination of garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and cayenne are mixed together with the flour to create a spicy batter
  • Sriracha – optional, but gives an additional kick to the flavor of these bites!
  • Sesame seeds and green onions – optional for garnish

Make the batter for the cauliflower

Combine all the dry ingredients (flour, corn starch, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, cayenne, salt, and black pepper) in a bowl.  Whisk in water until the batter is smooth and no lumps remain.

Coat the cauliflower

Next, add the cauliflower florets to the batter and mix well to evenly coat the florets with batter.

Place cauliflower in air fryer basket

Coat an air fryer basket or baking pans with non-stick cooking spray or air fryer perforated parchment paper, then add battered florets to the air fryer basket in a single layer. 

Air Fry

Air fry the cauliflower at 375 degrees F for 20 minutes or until cauliflower is tender.

Toss with sauce

While the cauliflower is in the air fryer, make the sauce by whisking together greek yogurt, sweet chili sauce, honey, sriracha, sesame oil in a small bowl. Once the cauliflower is out of the air fryer, Once the cauliflower is done cooking, carefully transfer them to a large bowl. Drizzle with the bang bang sauce, then toss to coat. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds before serving.

1 large head of cauliflower, cored, cut into even size florets

1/2 cup corn starch

1/2 cup all purpose flour

1/2 tsp salt

1 tsp paprika

2 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp onion powder

1/2 tsp cayenne

1 cup water

For the Bang Bang Sauce

1/4 cup greek yogurt

2 tablespoon sweet chili sauce

1 tablespoon sriracha

1 1/2 tsp sesame oil

1 tablespoon honey


Instructions

Wash the cauliflower head and cut them into florets.
In a mixing bowl – combine all dry ingredients (flour, garlic powder, onion
powder, paprika, cayenne, salt, black pepper) then whisk in water until batter has no
lumps.
Add fresh cauliflower florets to batter and mix well to evenly coat with
batter.
Coat air fryer basket with non-stick cooking spray, then add battered
florets to air fryer basket in a single layer. Also, try to keep them from
touching so that all sides can get air flow around them.
Air fry them at 375 degrees for 20 minutes, shaking the basket half way through.

While the cauliflower is in the air fryer, make the sauce by whisking together all the sauce ingredients in a small bowl.  Once the cauliflower comes out of the air fryer, toss with sauce.  Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
