Better Than Sex Cake – Family Fresh Meals

This isn’t just a dessert – it’s a peak experience.

Better than Sex Cake on a plate

How can this cake be better than sex, you ask? Well, it starts out with a rich, chocolatey devil’s food cake, which is already pretty awesome. Then you amp up that awesomeness by making it a poke cake. While it’s still warm, you poke holes in the top and drizzle it with sweetened condensed milk and caramel sauce, which soaks into the cake and makes it extra moist and rich and sweet.

But you don’t stop there! Next you spread this already decadent cake with a layer of creamy, fluffy whipped topping. And as if that weren’t enough, you sprinkle it with buttery-sweet toffee bits, chopped Health bars, and even more caramel sauce.

Right from the moment you sink your fork into the velvety softness of this cake, you know it’s going to be something special. And when you take a bite and the flavors of rich chocolate, caramel, toffee, and whipped topping all melt into your mouth at once – well, all I can say is, you’ll understand how it got its name.

Can this cake be made ahead of time and stored?

Yep! It’ll keep up to a week in the fridge, or up to three months in the freezer. Just thaw it completely in the fridge before serving it.

Can you use this poke cake technique with other flavors?

Funny you should ask! I happen to have a whole collection of poke cake recipes. My classic Easy Candy Bar Poke Cake is similar to this one, but with yellow cake instead of chocolate. My Cannoli Poke Cake combines white cake with creamy cannoli filling and chocolate chips. My Chocolate Turtle Poke Cake features the flavors of chocolate, caramel, and pecans. My Banana Split Poke Cake has all the flavors of your favorite frozen treat, with white cake, banana pudding, chocolate and cherry syrups, and fresh strawberries and bananas. And my festive Red White and Blue Poke Cake celebrates the Glorious Fourth by drenching a white cake with liquid strawberry and blueberry gelatin and dressing it with fresh berries.
