The Halloween treat that bites back!
Every Halloween, I like to make up a few new recipes to go with the spooky theme of the holiday. And this year, I’m going totally over the top with it. We didn’t get to have any Halloween parties or do real trick-or-treating last year, so I’m making up for lost time now.
So, even though I’ve already created several Halloween-themed goodies this year, I just couldn’t resist one more. And here it is: Vampire Teeth Cookies.
These vampire teeth cookies may look fancy, but they’re actually super simple to make. First, bake up a batch of regular cookies. I just used slice-and-bake chocolate chip cookies for these, but you could do another kind if you want.
Then, cut each cookie in half, and fill in the middle with a layer of marshmallow “teeth,” glued in place with red icing. And for the finishing touch, add the fangs – slivered almonds – on one outside edge, two marshmallows apart.
These Vampire Teeth Cookies are a spooky treat you can really (ahem) sink your teeth into. With buttery, chocolatey cookie on the outside, a layer of sweet icing under that, and the fluffy marshmallow layer in the middle, they’re quite a mouthful.
Recipe Tips:

- You can use your favorite chocolate chip cookie dough recipe (or any kind of cookie!) instead of the packaged cookie dough.
- Make the cookies fairly large (3 inches in diameter) for best results. You need enough space to get a full mouth of teeth in there!
- Work on assembling just one vampire teeth cookie at a time because the frosting dries to the touch quickly and will make it difficult to “glue” the marshmallows and slivered almonds in!
- If the cookies seem a bit soft, you can place them in the freezer for a few minutes to firm up to make it easier to assemble.
- You can really use any kind of frosting to assemble these cookies. The Wilton brand that comes in the tube is really easy to use because you can screw a decorating tip directly onto the tube for more control when icing the cookies.
Vampire Teeth Cookies
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Divide dough into 12 sections and roll each section into a large ball.
- Bake cookies on a baking sheet according to package instructions (about 12 minutes) and cool completely.
- Cut each cookie in half. With the wrong sides of the cookie facing up, squeeze a strip of icing around the inside of each cookie half.
- Line the icing on one cookie half with mini marshmallows (the round part of the cookie will form the teeth, but add a few marshmallows along the flat edge also so that the vampire teeth mouths stay level.
- Place the other half of the cookie on top of the marshmallows to form the mouth and teeth.
- Working quickly, before the icing dries to the touch, place a slivered almond to the outsides of the two front teeth to make fangs.
- Continue to make your vampire teeth creations with the remaining cookies.
